During my time re-enacting the civil wars in Britain in the 1640s , I have had a try at most arms used – Pike, Musket, Artillery, Sword. I did start to take horse riding lessons, but it didn’t agree with my back, so no cavalry for me. The following pages were created originally as booklets to show how to safely operate musket and artillery in our re-enactment group, although if you want to use them now, they might not meet current safety or legal requirements.
